Description
Dont be fooled by the outside! King Charles stayed when he was hiding from the Roundheads. The courthouse was held here once a month. It was used as a working farm, with cows and a creamery. Manor Lodge is an 800 year old Grade 1 listed building backing onto farmland and the coastal path.
Just a five minute walk into Millbrook village and all the amenities: pubs, a football club, an Indian restaurant , Post Office, Co-op, Spa shop and a lovely wholefood cafe at the back of Widdecombes fruit and vege shop, doctors and Chemist located in the Village hall car park. Two Estate agents. Just a mile to Southdown marina and Foss Quay.
Popular with bird watchers as well as miniature boats on Millbrook lake,and also great for families and pushbikes. Just over the hill one way is 850 acres of Mount Edgcumbe Country Park and also the Cremyll passenger ferry to Plymough city. Over another hill is the historic fishing villages of Kingsand and Cawsand. Then there is Whitsand Bay and the gateway to the rest of Cornwall, with Lands End about 90 minutes drive.
Manor Lodge is divided into two, with the owners accommodation separate to the guesthouse. There is a bed and breakfast option when not in use for holidays.
4 star graded, by Cottages.com March 2016. Comfortably fitting up to 6 people with up to two dogs welcome. Children can have the use of the fold out beds with travel cot available. Each of the 3 bedrooms has its own en suite bathroom, with power showers and unique shaving points and ethernet point. The biggest bedroom also doubles as a family room and can take 2 fold out beds for children. King size double bed. The standard double has a Indian Teak double bed and can fit a travel cot in the room. Lastly, the third room has twin single beds, which can comfortably fit 2 adults. Towels and linen are provided. The laundry has use of washing machine and dryer, iron and ironing board and a separate downstairs toilet.

. Outside, the enclosed courtyard is kept colourful with seasonal planters. The use of a barbeque and a shed with 1 small beer fridge.
Free off road parking. Room for vans/trailers. Lock up shed available for up to 2 motorbikes. Free wifi. Payphone. Best phone signal strength is EE Tmobile/Orange, Free, or Virgin.
Backing on to farmland, the coastal path takes you to Whitsand Bay, Penlee point, Rame or Kingsand/Cawsand, also Mount Edgcumbe Park, all within a 3 mile radius. The nearest city is Plymouth, a short ride on the passenger ferry at Cremyll, or by car from Torpoint car ferry 7 miles away. The Roscoff or Santander ferry can be accessed within an hour, via a 7 minute ride across the Cremyll ferry to Stonehouse. Being on the most South Eastern point of Cornwall, the climate is more temperate than the North Coast of Cornwall. Award winning. Featured on Channel 4's show '4 in a bed'. Short stays welcome. Torpoint is a town on the Rame Peninsula in Cornwall, England. It is located across the estuary of the River Tamar from Plymouth and is known for the crossing point via chain drawn ferries between Torpoint and Plymouth. It is not far from Kingsand, Milbrook and Saltash and is one of over 250 towns and villages in Cornwall in which Go2 has cottages or holidays lets available. The closest cities are Plymouth (population 243,795), Truro (population 20,920), and Exeter (which has a population of 106,772 according to the 2001 Census).
